WE ARE PLEASED TO ANNOUNCE THE WINNERS OF

THE 22ND NEW YORK MUSIC COMPETITION

BY YWCA OF QUEENS

Every year, young aspiring artists converge at the YWCA and compete for this opportunity, and we have grown to see the performances of over 1,892music students aged 5-22 since the Competition launched 21st years ago.

This year, we added woodwinds categories and we will hear their music at the Winner’s Concert. We are also excited to introduce Sophia Shao, our 11 year old Grand Prize winner who demonstrated her incredible musical gifts on piano.

Many thanks to all of the family and friends for their unwavering support for these amazing young artists.

On behalf of the YWCA of Queens, we congratulate you for winning the 22^nd New York Music Competition. We invite you to perform at our exclusive Winner’s concert and Award Ceremony on.

1.Winners Concert (5/20/19 at 7:30pm/Merkin Concert Hall)
All 1^st prize winners (with the exception of Violin A1 winners) have the honor of performing at this concert. 1^st winners will be informed the title piece to play via email.

2.Award Ceremony (5/20/19 at 6:30pm~7:30pm Merkin Hall Upper Lobby Reception Room)
All winners will receive awards for their achievement during the Awards Ceremony at the Merkin Hall Upper Lobby Reception Room.

3.Winner’s Concert Ticket
Winner’s Concert Tickets ($20 per ticket / No Group ticket) can be purchased at the YWCA of Queens website( click here)or can be purchased at Merkin Concert Hall Box Office or online https://www.kaufmanmusiccenter.org/mch/event/nymc-winners-concert/

*This concert is unreserved seating, Please disregard any seat details which appear on your tickets.

In preparation for the Event: Merkin Concert Hall has strict policies on who may enter the backstage area. Only performers and permitted guardians are allowed in the backstage area during rehearsals.
Guardians are prohibited from entering the backstage area during show time.

4.Day of the Event
Dress Code: The guardian must bring the winner to the back stage dressed in formal wear; dress and shoes/ jacket and shoes.
