Project CITY Award Ceremony

On September 23^rd, 2011, we honored 10 of our youth volunteers in our Project CITY program for earning a President’s Volunteer Service Award issued by the President’s Council on Service and Civic Participation.  Students earned either a bronze award for 100 hours of service or more, a silver award for 175 hours of service or more, or a gold award for 250 hours of service or more.  Councilman Peter Koo joined us for this event and offered these students his own special award of appreciation.  The YWCA of Queens Staff and Board would like to congratulate these students on their hard-work and dedication to the betterment of their community!  If you are interested in becoming a Project CITY volunteer, contact the Youth Director for more information.
