The Center for Adults offers educational and job training programs to improve YWCA of Queens members’ quality of life. Understanding the difficulties of accessing services and adjusting to new ways of life, the center provides an array of services to educate members and individuals from the community with language barriers about free and affordable resources while also assisting with cultural adjustment and resettlement of immigrant adults.
Adult ESL Program
The adult ESL program, designed particularly for the immigrant population, offers free ESL instruction, literacy tutoring and civics classes.

Korean Traditional Music Class
This program provides participants traditional Korean music lessons. In the class, you can experience the Korean traditional instrument “Jangu” and traditional song and dance.

Taught in Korean, this program is designed to acquaint participants with the basics of computer literacy. In this class, participants learn basic knowledge about operating computers, utilizing the internet, and using basic software. Class sizes are limited to ensure extensive one-on-one time to maximize student learning.

Handicraft League provides an intimate, social space for women to share their talents and skills and preserve the tradition of handicraft. As a volunteer run group, the women gather weekly to contribute their time and talent in creating beautiful handmade artwork and crafts.
