Annual Christmas Toy Giveaway

YWCA OF QUEENS SURPRISES 600 KIDS WITH TOYS AND COATS

Queens, NY — The YWCA of Queens, a non-profit organization, organized its third annual ‘Toys and Coats Giveaway’ to provide free toys and coats to kids ages 0- 15. We are honored to have Councilmember Peter Koo attend the event. Over 600 children and 300 families received free toys, coats, masks, hand sanitizers and other necessities for the holiday season.

“We want no child to see an empty Christmas tree, which is why the YWCA of Queens organizes toy and coat giveaways to brighten children’s faces and provide families with necessities. Children are so happy to pick up their own toys, thanks to the support we receive every year from corporates, social institution and individual donors,” said Eun-Kyung Kim, Executive Director of YWCA Queens.

“The end of the year is always a stressful time, particularly during pandemics, when parents always seek to make ends meet. The YWCA of Queens is a great example of a charity organization that supports the most in need. ” Councilmember Peter Koo said.

It was a tremendous success to give over 1000 toys to children of different ethnicities and ages. The YWCA of Queens extends its sincere gratitude to all donors, volunteers, and clients. In the future, we look forward to hosting more giveaway events to celebrate the holiday season with generosity, giving, and caring.
